Love them or hate them; there is no denying that the Harry Potter movies have touched all of our lives in some way, shape or form. Not least because of the huge magnitude of fame that it’s child stars have reached now that they are all grown up. Here are just a few reasons why we can all be thankful for this magical franchise.
1. The legend that is Daniel Radcliffe.
Now a bonafied A-list actor in his own right, Daniel Radcliffe has starred in many of our most recent TV and movie favourites including The Woman in Black, Horns and A Young Doctor’s Notebook. That isn’t even including his impressive roster of theatre work. Not bad for ‘the geeky kid from Harry Potter’, right?

2. … And his crazy antics.
So besides being one of our favourite actors, Daniel is actually lovably eccentric appearing with all different kinds of wacky hairstyles and crazy faces when he’s out, to entertain us. There are also a fair few pictures of him looking considerably worse for wear but the less said about that the better.

3. The beautiful Emma Watson (a.k.a Hermione Granger).
Who would have thought that the cute, yet incredibly annoying, Hermione Granger would grow up to be so elegant and beautiful? Whilst I’m sure the money has helped to keep her in check, Emma Watson should be very proud that it didn’t send her off the rails like other child stars.

4. … And her amazing fight for sexual equality as a UN Ambassador.
It goes without saying that not just anyone can be chosen to be a United Nations ambassador for women’s rights. Therefore, presumably it must have been the outstanding excellence of Emma Watson and the impressive example she sets for her peers, which set her ahead of the competition. It’s no wonder really, she never appears to put a foot wrong.

5. The Rupert Grint / Ed Sheeran Collaboration.
So we love Rupert Grint (a.k.a the loveable Ron Weasley) and we love Ed Sheeran – both baring an uncanny resemblance to each other I might add – so what’s not to love about Rupert pretending to be Ed in his music video for ‘Lego House’ in 2011? A perfect combination if you ask me.

6. Robert Pattinson.
Who would have known that the fresh-faced Cedric Diggory who met an untimely end in the Harry Potter franchise, would blossom into the world-famous Robert Pattinson or as most of the female population of the world know him Edward Cullen of the Twilight Saga? I’m sure Rob certainly had no idea how much his fame was about to sky-rocket when he played the humble Cedric but there’s no taking away from the fact that he is definitely one of the most successful members of the cast.

7. The newly hailed ‘sex symbol’ Matthew Lewis (a.k.a Neville Longbottom).
Matthew Lewis is a very new addition to the Harry Potter hall of fame with his most recent photoshoot for Attitude magazine. And quite a shoot it was! The pictures definitely speak a thousand words on this one…

8. The French beauty Clémence Poésy.
From Harry Potter’s Fleur Delacour to Gossip Girl’s Eva Coupeau to world-famous supermodel, we’ve got to admit that Clémence Poésy’s back catalogue of work kind of makes us jealous we didn’t audition for the Harry Potter movies ourselves!

9. The love/hate relationship we all have with Tom Felton.
We’ve got to hand it to Tom Felton, he’s done pretty damn well for himself considering he may have been the most hated boy on the planet during his childhood, spent starring as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series. But it has clearly paid off with a string of films in the pipeline and already a blockbuster hit under his belt in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He’s just too convincing as an evil character, but I guess it pays to work with what you’re given.

10. Pretty much every member of the older cast.
The talent of these guys really does speak for itself and even though very sadly a great deal of them are no longer with us such as Richard Harris (the loveable Dumbledore), and Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley) we will always have the amazing Harry Potter memories and we thank them very much for that.
