Despite the plethora of clothing options available to us in the big wide world, I think it’s safe to say that a vast majority of people own at least one pair of good old reliable denim jeans. Many of us use these as a means of comfort and manoeuvrability in our everyday lives but there are actually so many ways you can put them together with different outfits. Herein lies the point of this list, so go forth and start styling!
1. Straight leg with high heels.
If you ever want to jazz up a jeans ensemble then opt for a straight-cut pair with some high heels. If you want to add even more emphasis to the look then go for your most statement-inducing pair of heels – you won’t regret it.

2. The formal look.
If you want to take the dressier approach even further then you could try a colour-pop top, a smart jacket (preferably with strongly-defined shoulders) and a smart leather bag. If you’re feeling really brave then you could also opt for white denim like the ladies below.

3. The 70s look.
Originally inspired by 70s fashionista Jane Birkin, the flared-leg, high-waisted look really has come back in to style and thank goodness for that as it is one of the most flattering varieties of jean out there. If you want to take things a step further then any kind of suede or tassel adornment would be a very welcome addition to the look.

4. The ‘boyfriend’ look.
Boyfriend jeans are the perfect choice when it comes to comfort but many don’t know that they can actually be styled to perfection if you’re prepared to take a risk with a bold heel or some chic layering.

5. Double denim.
It isn’t always easy to get double denim right but a good rule of thumb is to go for different tones and bring it all together with a gorgeous heel a la Kate Hudson.

6. Tall Boots.
This look works perfectly with dark blue jeans and tall brown riding boots. If you want to add a smart jacket on top of that you will be mistaken for an upper-class socialite in no time.

7. Cuffed jeans with socks.
This is probably the most daring style on this list but if you’re feeling brave and have a good pair of cuffed jeans then why not put them together with some Mary Jane shoes (preferably with an ankle strap) and bring it all together with a boldly-coloured sock. It sounds crazy I know but just look at the results for yourself…

8. Add some sparkle.
Sequins are the perfect way to dress up any pair of jeans, even if you don’t feel like wearing heels. If you want to smarten it up even further then you could always try throwing on a boyfriend blazer for some added panache.

9. Layer your jewellery.
Never underestimate the power of jewellery and in the case of jeans, if you want to layer on as many necklaces as possible (within reason) it will add an extra bit of flair to your outfit.

10. Chunky knits.
Don’t you just love it when comfort and style come together in one delightful package? This is certainly the case with pairing chunky knits and jeans. And believe me, the bigger the jumper the better!
