There’s no denying that sometimes women have a really hard time of it in this modern-day world, not least because of the pressure we put on ourselves to look nice whilst going about our daily business. That is why we are here today with a major life hack: 10 easy-to-do hairstyles that can be completed in under five minutes. You can thank us later but in the meantime why don’t you take a look for yourself…
1. Backcombed Ponytail
One of the easiest options on this list, all you need to do is give your hair a big spritz of volumising spray or dry shampoo and then back comb it before tying it up in a ponytail. The great thing about this is that it can be as messy or as neat as you like depending on how much time you have.

2. Half-Up Half-Down
If you’re looking for a pretty hairstyle to suit all occasions then the ‘half-up half down’ option is one of the most versatile out there. Moreover, if you want to give the top half a bit of a backcomb before you tie it up, it will add that extra bit of oomph to the look.

3. Woven Braid
So many people shy away from braids because they look too difficult but they really don’t have to be. All you need to do is take your chosen section of hair, divide it in to three and then alternately weave the outer sections over the middle. If this sounds confusing there are plenty of great video tutorials out there and you will be looking like Instagram ready in no time.

4. Top Knot
I defy anyone to take any longer than one minute tying a top knot. All you need to do is gather your hair, hold it above your head and twist until it won’t go any further and you can hold it in place with a hair-tie or pins. This is another one that looks great messy if you want to add some texturising products.

5. Fishtail Braid
Ok so this one is a little trickier, but once you’ve nailed it you will be able to do this in no time at all. You start by putting your hair in a ponytail and then making two smaller ponytails out of it. You then take a section of hair (about half an inch) from the left side and pull it across the top left side over to the right ponytail. You then do this on the other side and keep on going until you have the texture/look that you want. Remember this doesn’t have to be neat, the messy look works just as well sometimes.

6. Low Knot
This style is so adaptable and easy, just like its counterpart the ‘top knot’ and can be completed with exactly the same method, only lower down. Just a small pointer: it looks particularly good if you pin it up rather than using a hair tie.

7. Twisted Ponytail
This style is so sophisticated and surprisingly quick to do, considering how chic it looks. All you need to do is tie a regular pony tail and then fold it back in on itself. If you want to add more drama then you can hold back two sections of hair (one on each side of the head) before you tie the ponytail and then wrap them around it once you’ve completed the look.

8. Chignon
This style is very similar to the low knot although it is certainly one that works well at any sophisticated occasions you have coming up, albeit a fancy dinner or a very posh work event. You need to have dirty hair for this and first of all brush it so you have a centre parting and the hair is sitting behind your ears. You’ll then need to twist and pin up with bobby bins. You would then be best advised to tease bits of hair out to make it as big as you can (within reason) before adding some holding spray.

9. Side Braid
The side braid really is having a moment and the brilliant thing is it requires even less efforts than other plaited styles. The aim here is to make it look as effortless as possible and this means lots of volume and keeping the braid itself very loose.

10. Half-Tuck with Ribbon
It’s amazing the difference a ribbon in your hair makes. This is perfect if you have a special occasion or work event you want to add some fun too and really does just involve tying a ribbon in your ‘half-up half-down’ hairstyle. Yes, it really is that simple!
