There’s nothing quite like the Broadway stage to entice an actor of any background. It is even the holy grail for those who’ve worked in Hollywood and the perfect opportunity for fans to observe their favourite stars up close in the intimate setting of the theatre. There are no shortage of actors who sign themselves up for Broadway shows but here are just a few of our favourite to date:
1. Emma Stone – Cabaret
Taking on the role of Sally in musical ‘Cabaret’ back in 2014, Emma Stone gave us a taste of the musical talent that was to follow in her hit movie La La Land.

2. Sienna Miller – Cabaret
Soon after Emma Stone finished her stint, Sienna Miller was chosen to take on the exact same role of Sally and was even left a throat spray by her predecessor which we think is very thoughtful indeed.

3. Denzel Washington – Fences
You might think that ‘Fences’ was just a hit movie that Denzel Washington starred in in 2016 but that couldn’t be further from the truth as he actually starred alongside his movie co-star Viola Davis in the Broadway version of the play in 2010.

4. Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig – Betrayal
For anyone who was wondering where married couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz met, we can confirm that it was on hit Broadway show ‘Betrayal’ where they played two parts of an adulterous trio.

5. Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman – A Steady Rain
For anyone hoping for some light-hearted subjected matter, ‘A Steady Rain’ certainly isn’t the best show to choose on Broadway. Luckily the 2009 version had a bit of light relief because it starred two of the biggest stars on the planet.

6. Jude Law – Hamlet
Anyone in any doubt of Jude Law’s acting capability would have been best served to watch him in the 2009 Broadway adaptation of Hamlet which received rave reviews and recouped its $2.5 million expenditure within 3 months.

7. Katie Holmes – All My Sons
Back in 2008, the theatre world lost its mind momentarily when Katie Holmes stepped up for the role of Annie in Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’. Luckily for Katie, the unprecedented amount of press interest was worth it as she received rave reviews.

8. Daniel Radcliffe – Equus
Even though speculation unfortunately seemed to surround the fact that Daniel Radcliffe appeared without any clothes on in the Broadway revival of ‘Equus’, what they actually should have been focussing on was his impressive transition from his Harry Potter days in to a fully-fledged, diverse actor.

9. James Franco, Chris O’Dowd and Leighton Meester – Of Mice and Men
It’s certainly a special occasion when, not one, but three Hollywood actors come together to star on Broadway and this was the case in 2014 when James Franco, Chris O’Dowd and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester starred in John Steinbeck’s ‘Of Mice and Men’.

10. Gillian Anderson – A Streetcar Named Desire
Ok, ok, this production technically didn’t take place in New York’s Broadway but in London’s West End. We just simply couldn’t leave out Gillian Anderson’s jaw-dropping turn as Blanche DuBois in the Tennessee Williams classic ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’. Just Google it and you will see how impressive and harrowing an actress can be on stage.
