It’s one thing for celebrities to make us jealous on the red carpet, but when it comes to putting us to shame with their maternity wardrobes that really does take the biscuit. Nonetheless, we still can’t get enough of it and, let’s face it, there is never a time in life when we don’t need these beautiful celebs to give us something to aspire to.

You can barely type Blake Lively’s name in to Google these days without the word ‘pregnant’ showing up behind it and this is because she never stepped out – whilst baring her first child, James, with husband Ryan Reynolds – looking anything short of perfection. You’ve got to love Anne Hathaway’s down to earth, laidback approach to pregnancy style which, in its own right, was very inspiring to women everywhere. However, when she was willing to push the boat out and experiment with outfits like this Grecian number for the Vanity Fair Oscars Party 2016, she set the bar to a new high.

Emily Blunt’s maternity wardrobe definitely deserves some collective merit, especially since it served to inspire countless women across the globe to embrace their pregnancies with open arms.

After years of struggling to conceive, its no wonder Chrissy Teigen’s main ally for her maternity wardrobe was her glowing smile, which didn’t seem to leave her face for the whole nine months.

Epitomising the stereotype of a ‘glowing pregnant woman’, it’s hard to believe all the negative rumours of pregnancy side effects when you see someone like Jaime King looking this good. Having Taylor Swift as one of your best friends also might help to get the jealousy mills turning when the two of them share their BFF Instagram posts.

Keira Knightley seemed to time her pregnancy just right in terms of being able to show off some of the best maternity dresses ever worn on the red carpet, when she was nominated at pretty much every awards ceremony in 2014 for her role in The Imitation Game.

Shrouded in secrecy for the first five months, it is a testament to Mila Kunis’s styling that she was able to keep her pregnancy under wraps from the public for so long. Then once she decided to let the truth out she was applauded for her laidback approach to maternity clothing, which made mums-to-be everywhere breathe a sigh of relief.

It’s safe to say that Drew Barrymore has come a long way from her 90s grunge persona, and this was never more true than looking at her chic maternity wardrobe, which was stunning enough to bring a tear to the eye.

To say that Kate Middleton is a style icon is like saying ‘the sky is blue’. We get it. But the frenzy that ensued after some of the dresses she wore whilst pregnant with both Prince George and Princess Charlotte was, quite frankly, something else. Her ASOS polka dot dresses in particular caused quite the phenomenon and still have not stopped flying off the shelves whenever they are in stock.
