It seems like only yesterday nobody really knew who James Cordon was (unless you live in the United Kingdom, of course) but now I think we can all agree that it would be difficult to imagine the entertainment world without him. This is especially true now that he is hosting The Late Late Show and hit spin-off ‘Carpool Karaoke’, which sees him singing along with the biggest stars in the business ‘on their way to work’. Here are just a few of our favourites so far…
1. Stevie Wonder
Could there be anything more romantic than having Stevie Wonder call your wife to sing ‘I Just Called to Say I Love You’? Well, this a dream that James Corden got to live out in real life and it brought a visible tear to his eye.

2. Michelle Obama (with Missy Elliott)
As if we needed any reminding that Michelle Obama is one of the coolest women on the planet, she sealed the deal fully when she took part in Carpool Karaoke with James (in the grounds of the White House) and even had Missy Elliott show up for an impromptu performance of ‘Get Ur Freak On’.

3. Adele
One of the most viewed Carpool Karaokes on YouTube, James flew all the way back to the UK to meet with Adele and drive around London’s streets with her. It was definitely worth his while to see the hit-maker perform some of her best songs and she even performed a very impressive version of Nicki Mianj’s rap from ‘Monster’.

4. Gwen Stefani (with George Clooney and Julia Roberts)
One of the most surprising guest appearances ever to happen on Carpool Karaoke, the inimitable Gwen Stefani’s appearance of Carpool Karaoke saw her call upon the help of George Clooney and Julie Roberts to perform her hit ‘Hollaback Girl’.

5. Madonna
Madonna can always be trusted to add a bit of controversy to proceedings and her performance on Carpool Karaoke was no exception seeing her twerk in the front seat and hang her legs out of the car, whilst her and James navigate the busy streets of New York.

6. Red Hot Chilli Peppers
We all know the Chillis love to remove their clothes at any given opportunity but this time was different when James decided to join them and see how liberating it can be.

There’s no doubt that the vast majority of the 100 million+ views that this video got on YouTube were very excited girls keen to catch a glimpse of one of the boys’ last performances before their split in January 2016.

8. Jennifer Hudson
Definitely one of the most breathtaking Carpool Karaokes ever to have taken place, there really is no way not to be completely blown away by Jennifer Hudson’s remarkable voice, especially her stunning rendition of ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’. The girl can certainly sing, put it that way.

9. Rod Stewart
One of the first Carpool Karaokes to take place, Rod Stewart certainly knows how to tell a story about his formative years in the music industry. This skit also contains a slightly awkward appearance from A$AP Rocky (who teamed up with Rod for hit ‘Everyday’) but nonetheless it went down pretty well.

10. Jennifer Lopez
It seems celebrities can still fall victim to someone sending a random message from their phone and this is exactly what happened when James sent a text from J-Lo’s iPhone to Leonardo DiCaprio. It might have been so embarrassing for her but it made for fantastic viewing for the rest of us.
