Getting a good sleep will help you be more productive and energized the next day. Here are some tips to make sure you get some good zzz’s in.
1. Don’t exercise right before you sleep
Exercising gets you pumped up at least 4 hours after doing it, so make sure you get in that workout before that time frame.
2. Avoid caffeine
Try not to drink anything with high caffeine content as early as you can.
3. Drink milk
It was found that drinking warm milk doesn’t really affect sleep pattern but it does calm you down.
4. Do deep breathing
Breathing deeply will reduce your heart rate and relaxes your body.
5. Filter out light
Make sure you block out light, get a good pair of black out curtains or wear a sleep mask to cover your eyes.
6. Put away your phone
Ditch the distractions and focus on getting a good night’s sleep.
7. Set a comfortable temperature
Make sure the temperature in your room is just the way you like it.
8. Fix your bed
Set aside everything you have on your bed that is not needed for sleeping, make it clutter free.
9. Tone down smoking cigarettes
Small doses of nicotine can relax you but too much of it will keep you awake.
10. Snack at night
Don’t eat a lot before going to bed, this will start up your metabolism and contributes to weight gain.
