A way to unwind after a long day at school or from the office is to watch TV. And last year was a year with many good TV shows that kept us entertained and we can’t wait to watch more this year. But there are TV show moments last year that broke our hearts and we will remember for a long time. We rounded up episodes that made us feel really emotional
Poussey Washington’s Death – Orange Is The New Black
Litchfield will never be the same again after Poussey Washington died in the hands of the police officer Bayley. Although it was an accident and Bayley was absolved of the crime, it was still so sad to see the fan favorite character to be gone just like that.
Hodor – Game of Thrones
In order to save his friends, Bran and Mereen from the white walkers, Hodor sacrificed himself by “holding the door” and let himself be killed. If that isn’t painful enough, another memorable scene was the back story/time twisting scene where Bran connected to the mind of Hodor’s younger self, Wylis to the present time. This caused him to get a seizure and which ended up severely effecting him mentally. Wylis, repeating the words “Hold The Door” over and over again until combining the words together until “Hodor” is the only thing he could say.
Barb Holland – Stranger Things
The hashtag #JusticeForBarb trended on twitter after Barb Holland’s character was sucked into the upside down world by the demo gorgon in one of the episodes of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Even though Barb is just a minor character, fans can’t get over her death and hoped that she was still alive until the last part of the series.
Richard’s Funeral – Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life
Edward Herrmann passed away in 2014, and the fans of Gilmore Girls mourned the loss of the man who played Richard Gilmore, who will be forever in our hearts. But with the revival of Gilmore Girls by Netflix where they honored Herrmann and his character, it re-opened the heartaches as we see Emily, Lorelei and Rory saying their goodbyes to the head of the family.
Wes Gibbins is Dead – How To Get Away With Murder
On the season 3 winter finale of How To Get Away With Murder, it was revealed that the one who died in the house fire at Annalise Keating’s house is the law student Wes Gibbins. The fans were disappointed at the news of his death after knowing that he was already dead before the fire. Fans were left with a big mystery to solve on who killed him and why?
Abbie’s Sacrifice – Sleepy Hollow
After a few moments between Ichabod and Abbie Mills at the season finale of Sleepy Hollow, she did a surprising move that left the fans devastated. Abbie stepped into the Pandora’s box and made a huge sacrifice to save the world from Pandora and The Hidden One. Another main character that died that left the audience shocked and disappointed since the partnership between Ichabod and Abbie was so good. How can Ichabod survive without Abbie now?
My Baby – How To Get Away With Murder
Another scene from the series How To Get Away With Murder that left the audience brokenhearted is the scene where Annalise Keating telling Wes Gibbins a story about the death of her baby. Annalise had an emergency C-section but the baby didn’t survive. Blaming herself why the baby died for getting her ambition in the way and putting much pressure on herself. The scene where Annalise was holding the dead baby was so heartbreaking to watch.
What Happened To Jack? – This Is Us
Almost all of the episodes in the series This Is Us are emotional and will leave you with sad or happy tears. But the answer about what happened to Jack was one memorable moment that left the viewers with aching hearts. Kate revealed to Toby the reason why she values her tradition of watching football every Sunday. She told him that she always watched football with her father, and so Toby told her that he wanted to meet him. Then she took the urn containing his ashes that confirmed the suspicion of the fans that Jack Pearson was already gone.
Faith – Outlander
Losing a child is one of the saddest thing that can happen to a mother. And watching it like what happened to Claire when she lost her baby broke the hearts of the viewers. One memorable scene was when Claire holds the baby in her arms and cried for the lost of her daughter that they named Faith. There was also a scene of Jamie begging Claire to help her bear the burden of the loss of their daughter brought more sadness to the viewers of Outlander.
Glenn’s Death – The Walking Death
“Maggie, I will find you.”
Those were the last words that Glenn said before he died in the hands of the ruthless Negan. It was one of the gruesome and heartbreaking moment in TV history and will be forever remembered by the viewers of The Walking Dead. Glenn dying in front of Maggie and saying his love for her until his last breath was just so moving that fans will never move on from it for a long time. Fans were also outraged knowing the fact Glenn’s wife Maggie is pregnant, but it did not spare him and they still killed his character in the show.
